Dynamics GP Finance Consultant
Our client, a dynamic company in downtown DC, has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Senior Systems Engineer, Financial Systems. The purpose of this position is to manage and support their Financial/Accounting system. The incumbent will plan for and perform enhancements and configuration changes, including upgrades to new versions. Provide assistance to customers in the usage of the system, and coordinate external vendor support.
The successful candidate will have:
. 10 years of direct work experience in Information Systems;
. Bachelors degree from an accredited college and/or university, preferably in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance or related field;
. 5-7 years installing, configuring, and supporting Accounting/Financial Systems, including the following: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing/Procurement/Receivables, Fixed Assets, General Ledger;
. 4-6 years demonstrated successful project management;
. 4-6 years hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or other accounting/financial COTS package;
. 2-3 years hands-on experience with software testing of COTS financial packages;
. 2-3 years hands-on experience with Microsoft SQLServer 2005 or higher.
. The following experiences are desired:
. 4-6 years direct work experience with software engineering and project management methodologies;
. 2-3 years direct work experience in vendor management, including development of RFPs, evaluation of vendor proposals, and management of vendor performance;
. 2-3 years direct work experience developing and managing IT budgets;
. 2-3 years hands-on experience with enterprise project management systems (ex. Microsoft Project Server).
Responsibilities include:
. Manage the full implementation lifecycle and support for all projects dealing with our client's Financial System;
. Complete software configurations to meet desired functionality, or supervise internal or external resources completing the configuration;
. Create project plans using documented methodology and maintain those plans throughout the project;
. Provide input and advice regarding system capabilities and functions;
. Provide functional and technical support to the users of the product;
. Assist in documenting user business processes, work instructions, and training curriculums in support of the company's evolving use of its Financial System;
. Research issues, provide recommendations, and escalate issues to the vendor as appropriate;
. Design and develop reports using the product's reporting capabilities and tools.
. Develop requirements, vision/scope, and design specifications for enhancements to the product;
. Perform changes and enhancements to the configuration of the system, in support of customer needs;
. Develop and maintain test scripts, support for plug-ins, and interface development for In-house or COTS solutions integration;
. Ensure functional and technical documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately;
. Server as a subject matter expert on Financial System data and functionality during the planned replacement of our client's existing system (Microsoft Dynamics GP) with an enterprise-wide financial package - the specific package is yet to be determined;
. Actively participate in the design and implementation of the new financial package, including working closely with the system integrator on data conversion and mapping of functionality from GP to the new system;
. Become trained in the new financial package, and assume the role of functional lead upon completion of package implementation and the retirement of GP;
. Performs other duties as assigned.
